My life is crazy

Obviously since it's been two months since I've written, my life is absolutely insane!!! It's just getting worse:) But it's my own fault and I can deal with it.
My trip (boy that was a long time ago) back to Canada was good. Stressful, but I think my Mommy is doing quite well now. I don't think she has to go back to the doctor for another month or so! That's pretty awesome.
Coming back from Canada was really hard, of course. My mom was still in the hospital when I left, but she started getting much better soon after I left. I guess you could say she was on the upswing when I had to come back.
There's been a lot of change at work. I got to switch to the Toddler classroom, so for the past two weeks I've been adjusting to a new work schedule and a new classroom/age group. The change is definitely a positive one! I have to open the center now, though, so that means very early mornings....I'm not necessarily a morning person though, but it hasn't been too bad. Three days a week I leave the center by 2:00. That's nice:) However, it does mean that I work a few more hours at the music store, so my total work hours have increased! I didn't think that was possible:)
The other big change is that we've adopted (on a trial basis so far) two kitties. They're both sweet and good, but they fight during the night so I haven't been getting nearly enough sleep, especially since I'm out the door by 5:45 every morning! I'm hoping they calm down. I think one of them is trying to play with the other, but he doesn't want to play so he gets all mad! I also think the one that doesn't want to play is suffering from ear mites (he goes to the vet again this week) so that could be leading to his irritability! Hopefully it all gets sorted out and we can come to a compromise that lets me rest a bit more!
I've been playing with my band now for three years, and am now part of the band board doing publicity....HAHAHA:) Actually, it isn't too bad and I actually managed to get a letter out and got some ads for our concert programs which brings in some revenue for the band. Obviously I had a lot of help....but it shouldn't be that bad of a job. Today Eric and I went out to Buffalo Grove to put some posters up in local businesses...the weather was really nice and we went to Dairy Queen, so I guess that's okay.
I also re-joined the gym today. Thank goodness for that! I quit back in April because I just wasn't going. I think I was kind of tired of the routine and wanted to spend more time outside exercising...which I did, sort of but I think it's good that I joined the gym again. Hopefully I'll be able to attend regularly so it won't be a waste of money!
So, that's pretty much it. My cats are so good during the day. I wonder what they're like when we're not around? Hopefully not like they are all night, that's for sure!! Anyhow, signing off!!!

Well, I guess a lot has happened since the day before we left for Vegas. Like, say, a vacation to Las Vegas! It was REALLY fun and I had a wonderful time! We ate a lot of good food (In and out Burger, BOUCHON, and the Bellagio buffet, to name a few places), spent a TON of money (oops) and sweated our brains off! I could give you a day-by-day....

Sunday-Arrived around 5:15, spent a few minutes with John and Morgan who met us at the airport, took a shuttle to the hotel which took forever because we were the last stop, got settled, ate at a really good louisiana style restaurant at the Orleans (I had gumbo...mmm..) and then walked from the Orleans to the Luxor, which surprisingly only took about a half hour or so. The heat was incredible...the wind was blowing and even though it was 8:00 and getting dark it was like an oven! Once we got to the Luxor and met everybody there, we walked down the strip to the Bellagio fountains, and went to Planet Hollywood (FFFuh) and discovered Fat Tuesdays. Mmmmm......more on that later. I think eventually we made our way back to the Luxor and took a cab back to the Orleans and made it back there by 2:15am. It was fun:)

Monday-Had to get up early-ish to meet my team for Check-In for the Bowling Tournament. We Checked in, and then Eric and I went over to the Luxor to meet everybody! We wandered around the strip that day, on the closer side to the Luxor. Eric and I ate at Quizno's where John found an amazing two for one water sale (:), and then headed towards NY, NY, MGM, etc. Then we headed back to the hotel to get ready for our Big evening. We dined at BOUCHON, one of Thomas Kellers restaurants, which was AMAZING, wandered around the Venetian, and then went to see Mystere at Treasure Island, (Cirque de Soleil). It was good times! Unfortunately I had to have a relatively early evening because we somehow managed to obtain the 9:00 slot for the bowling tournament.

Tuesday-Bowling began at 9:00am sharp! I pretended my average was 175, which actually worked as I actually averaged 178 or so. So I bowled really well. My team bowled well overall and had a 33rd place finish out of 239 teams or so! After bowling was done, everyone met us at the Orleans. John played at the pool while PRI, Morgo, Jo and Eric went to the outlet mall. That was fun! (I thought). Although I didn't buy anything except for chinese food for lunch. And water. Thank goodness for bottled water in Vegas. We wandered around there for a couple hours. Eric found a bunch of new clothes (YAY) and Pri got some shopping done for her co-workers. Morgan found new shoes. Jo resisted the urge to buy anything, especially in the Coach store! When we were done there we headed back to the Orleans. Everyone deserted me because I had to go to my bowling banquet. They went for dinner with Morgans mom and grandma at the Luxor Cafe and then to the Stratosphere for rides. My banquet was pretty good. There was an open bar and decent food. Nothing eventful though. After the banquet I just went back to my hotel room and read and watched TV. And that was Tuesday!

Wednesday-We were picked up around 8:00 in Vagine, our rental Jeep liberty to go to the Grand Canyon!!!! YAY! We stopped at McDonalds for breakfast.....eeeek....and then headed out on our long journey through the desert. The Grand Canyon was beautiful (and very hot). We walked along the rim for a while, turning back when there were no restaurants and gift shops in sigh, and then went to the visitors center. I think we did that one backwards...ooops. We got back in Vagine, drove down where there was a restaurant and gift shop, had a light lunch, bought a couple souvenirs, and then started the 5 hour drive back to vegas! We stopped in Kingman for IN and OUT burger (mmmmm) and then arrived in Vegas around 11:00 or something. Johnny dropped us off at our hotel (I think we had Fat Tuesdays again before leaving the Luxor) and then we started packing our things up to check out the folowing morning.

Thursday-We had to get up early (again) because Johnny was picking us up in the rental to take us back to the Luxor before Vagine had to go back to Dollar Rental. That was very helpful because we had all of our bags and things! Much easier and cheaper than taking a cab. So we arrived at the Luxor with all of our stuff, and then hung out while everyone got ready. We wandered down to the Bellagio for YUMMY buffet. We paid for breakfast and got lunch too!!! After brunch we went to the Secret Garden at the Mirage and saw BABY TIGERS!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were SOOOOOO cute. I love baby tigers:) Uncle Eric even picked out a baby bib for Sadie with a white baby tiger on it, although I don't know if she's got it yet! We wandered around there for a bit, saw all the animals (dolphins too!). And then what did we do??? Probably watched the fountains and headed back to the hotel so John and Pri could get ready to go to the airport:( After they left Morgan, Eric and I went to Fat Tuesdays. Ooops. Morgan and I had the brilliant idea to share a Yard Dog (tall yummy margherita) and then we wandered around Mandalay Bay. I finally got to show Eric the wine tower in the cool restaurant there. It's huge! And then Morgan and I decided to share another Yard Dog. Ooops. We picked up some cards and some munchies and headed back to the hotel room to play games and devour chips. And drinks. And then for some reason, we went back for a third yard dog. Hmmm...I'm not sure why that one happened, but for once it wasn't my fault. I don't think. Ooops:) Anyhow, after the third one was consumed, we all went to sleep.

Friday-We got to sleep in! YAY!!! We went to the pool, got sunburned, went to "House of Blues" for lunch/dinner and had an overall relaxing, yard dog-free day.

Saturday-Had to check out, wandered around the strip for a bit, visited the fountains and PH, walked all the way through MGM looking for...what was it? And then headed back to the Luxor to collect our bags and go to the airport:( Poor Morgan had to stay in the airport forever!!! Her flight left a lot later than ours, and she couldn't come to our terminal so I was sad:(

SO, that was Vegas. It was awesome!!!! Sorry if you're bored!

And now I'm coming to Edmonton on Wednesday. I should be excited, and I am because I'll get to see people, especially my mommy, sister's, Brother in law's and BABY NIECE!!! Uncle Eric will finally get to meet her. I'm excited about that the most, because Eric will absolutely love her! But I'm all apprehensive about the medical procedure that my mommy has to endure. It's very stressful!!!

So, this is the longest post ever I think, and It's going to come to an end. See you all soon!

LAS VEGAS!!!!

Tomorrow is the big day at last! We're finally on vacation and going to beautiful Las Vegas! I'm so excited just to be on vacation that it doesn't really matter where we go. What matters is that we ARE going and that we're meeting people there! YAY! FRIENDS!!! I like friends:)
So we fly out tomorrow at 3:25 or something and arrive in Vegas at 5:14. Something like that, anyway. We have a couple of things planned out, but mostly I think it will be impromtu decisions as far as other things. Monday night we're going to Mystere, and then on Wednesday we're making the LOOOONG drive to the Grand Canyon. I'm so excited! I think we'll also check out the Paris Buffet (which I've heard is one of the best for breakfast) and I'll see if anybody wants to go to the outlet malls...:) Of course, bowling is on Tuesday. I haven't bowled at all since the last night of our league. Ooops. Hopefully I don't totally suck. I WOULD like to win some money! Maybe I'll go tonight....probably not though. Oh well.....
And then we come back on Saturday night. I think it's going to be REALLY fun. I wonder what Johnny is going to do with himself tonight, as he arrives in Vegas before anybody, a whole day earlier in fact!
So that's the most fun thing going on in my life right now. This past week we have been house-sitting, which has been kinda nice. You know, living in a real house!!! We've also been doggy sitting, and it's been nice to be around animals:) Animals are fun:) What hasn't been good is that I had something EVERY night this week, and couldn't take advantage of the fact that they have a pool! It would have been so nice to go for a dip in the pool and laze around in the sun. But I guess it wasn't meant to be. I guess that's what next week is for!
Last night we went to a wedding. The food was yummy. The DJ, not so good, but it was a nice time. Eric's cousin got married, so it was nice to see some of the family etc.
Not much else going on-more of the same. I still want to come home to visit, and maybe I will soon. We'll just have to see what happens. I can't believe it's already been a whole month since I was there! I bet that little Sadie baby has gotten so big since then!!! I can't wait to see her and everybody else again!!!

Ugghh, I have something in my eye! I hate it when that happens!!!

Anyhow, so I'm at work....sigh. Aren't I always at work? Well, I'll see some of you in VEGAS TOMORROW!!! HUZZAH!!!

YAY, New Post!

Okay, so I guess it's time for an update, even though most of you saw me on Monday for THAI FOOD. Mmmmmm..........thai food. Wednesday I flew back to Chicago and luckily I had Colin picking me up from the airport. Much appreciated, as I really didn't want to cab it home. That would have sucked! The flights were uneventful. I only had to walk on the runway twice to get on and off the planes. I think last time I had to almost exclusively walk onto the tarmac to access the planes. Very adventurous. The flights felt really long though. Quite boring, as there is nothing to entertain people on those smaller planes. I had a book but I finished it, and I don't always like to listen to music. Sometimes the plane noise is TOO LOUD.
But anyhow, I had an AWESOME (but very short) visit. I stayed with my sissy and the baby meister, who is the cutest little baby I've ever seen! Sadie is such a good little girl, and only gets cranky when she's hungry and tired. Poor little thing, I totally disrupted her schedule I think. We were very busy while I was there!!! All that shopping! I had a lot of fun though, and was very sad when I had to leave. Everyone keeps saying how I could move back at any time. If only the whole picture were that simple!!!!!! I think possibly in the future we might end up there, but who knows?? Only time can tell.

Sigh.

So I posted some new pictures of Sadie on facebook. I can't wait until Jill and Ryan get some video of Sadie with Daddy. It's hilarious!!!! Flying screaming baby!!!!!!
There's not much new going on in life. Life is just how I left it. Work is going to change in the next couple of weeks. All my babies are either leaving the center or moving up to preschool, so our kids are going to be different. A lot different. Plus I think our enrollment is going to be lower, AND one of the Toucan teachers (another two's room) is changing to teach in a preschool room, so there's going to be a lot of change happening. Very interesting. I don't think any of it will be bad though. We're sad to lose her in the unit, but I'm not too worried.
My mom seems to be doing well. I haven't heard an update since Thursday. I'll have to call my sister when I get home from work. I think no news is good news!
Other than all that stuff, not much is going on. We go to vegas in three weeks. That's hopefully going to be fun. We definitely need a vacation, especially one TOGETHER! Time together will be a very nice thing! We "celebrated" our fourth wedding anniversary a week ago, but we've hardly seen each other. Eric's been super busy with rehearsals, I was out of town.....I don't know when we'll officially be able to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Vegas. Haha. Sad, but it's probably true. Maybe we'll renew our vows!!!!!!!! Wouldn't that be funny?

Anyhow, only 1.25 hours left in work! YAY!

So much for not ignoring my blog

My head hurts. It's been hurting for the last two day! I had a chiropractor's adjustment yesterday, and my head/neck was feeling better later on yesterday, but now it hurts again. Sigh.
I've had three adjustments so far since I began seeing my doctor. I guess that's good...but I wish I didn't need any adjustments at all!!!
Work has been pretty crazy. Well, I guess not work exactly, because work has been exactly the same. I think my life has just been crazy in general. Finally my concert last weekend is over and I can stop stressing out about bassoon playing. The concert was fabulous...my solo was just okay. My band nearly killed me in tempos, so during the slow parts I had a hard time holding on! But I guess overall it was fine. Good enough, is what I said afterwards. Just thank goodness it's over!!! Also, my quintet is done performing for awhile, so no more saturday/sunday rehearsals! Finally I can do fun stuff during my "weekend". My weekends are definitely too short. Time has just been flying by lately. It finally gets to the weekend, and then all of a sudden I'm dragging myself out of bed on monday morning. And then the next thing I know it's Saturday morning and here I am once again, waiting for people to come to the music store.....
Eric and I have a busy month ahead of us! Tonight we're going to a performance at DePaul (Eric's school). His sax teacher is performing with one of the bands. Tomorrow we're going to see Les Miserables (YAAAYYYY!!!!!!), and then we start our weeks all over again. Next weekend I think is not too bad. I think Eric's got some rehearsals or something, but the week after that is Eric's master's recital (saturday the 17th) and then the following weekend is when I come to Edmonton again! I'll be there from the 24th-28th. HOORAY!!! I'm excited:) I get to see the cutest little baby in the world, and spend some much needed time with my mommy and family!
After that, May is pretty much over. Sheesh.

Anyway, so that's what's been going on over here. Eric and I have been trying to figure out what the heck we're doing next year. Eric is still keeping his eyes open for college jobs. Otherwise it might just be more of the same. Yuck. I'm not sure I can handle another year of "the same". Blah. We really need to figure out what we're doing!!!!! Otherwise I might start going crazy.....

It's time I stopped ignoring my blog

Well, a whole bunch of crap has happened since my last post almost a month ago. I didn't want to write about it in my blog, and I still probably won't, but at least now things are looking up. I think.

I'm trying to think of all the good things that have happened since March 15th...I got my bonus at work. Eric and I did our taxes and didn't owe the federal government any money. I've been working really hard on my bassoon solo. Bowling hasn't completely sucked. We booked our plane tickets for Vegas (anybody want to come to vegas?) My niece gets cuter and cuter every day. I should post some more photos of her on here...but pretty much anybody (actually, probably EVERYBODY) who looks at this blog is on facebook so they can see pictures of her there. Actually, probably nobody even looks at this blog anymore.
Hmmm, other good things? I got my haircut. Woo Hoo! And now I'm having a hard time thinking of anything good.

Oh yes. I've been seeing my doctor on a regular basis, and I'm not as crooked as I once was. I finally got an adjustment (neck adjustment) last Tuesday and it has been holding up! This week I also got to see a massage therapist, and that has been kind of nice, too. Some of the massage is quite uncomfortable due to the extreme tightness in some of my back muscles, but I'll survive. The best of all is that she used these suction cup thingies on my back on Tuesday that I still have marks from, and it looks like I was making out with an octopus. It's pretty funny.....I have hicky like things on my back! Awesome. I go again to the doctor on Tuesday. Oh boy!!!! The only problem is that it's far. From work it's a solid half hour, so if I go during my break, it's a full hour of driving plus time for the doctor's appointment. On the plus side, I have a lot of sick time. So i get paid for going to the doctor. I've been trying to schedule the appointments outside of work though, just in case I need my sick time for something else.

Let's see....I was pretty sick last week. I went home from work on Thursday and missed band rehearsal Thursday night. I just had a 24 hour flu bug of some sort, I guess. Hmmmm, I guess this means I'm done mentioning things that are good. And I think I'll refrain from all the things that are bad! Which might mean that this blog post should come to an end. It's boring anyway, just like all my other posts!!!!

What a pain in the neck!

As most of you know, I have neck problems...

I was referred to a doctor down here, but never got up the nerve to go because I was afraid of the costs, and I was hoping that my neck was all better.

Well, my neck is certainly not better. And it's about time I went to the damn doctor!!!! So I spent last week looking into the doctors, seeing if insurance would cover it...you know, that sort of thing. The conclusion that I came to is that it's going to be expensive. My insurance will cover a certain percentage after my deductible. My deductible is $500......SO, I'll have to pay at least that much. That sucks.

BUT....

There's no price on good health. My neck is aching most of the time, I'm having hip/sciatica problems, and I am not sleeping well. SO, I'm tired all the time, probably irritable, and in pain. I need to go to the doctor. I was just going to go to a regular chiropractor, but I don't think I want to go to somebody who doesn't specialize in Atlas Subluxation. I don't think they'd be able to provide me with the treatment that I need. So I'm going to go to the specialist, and he should be able to get me the same treatment I was recieving in Edmonton. I'll put my faith/trust in that!!! Kind of funny though. I had an appointment with this doctor, but I cancelled it because I was going to try and find a doctor where my insurance would pay for it. But then they sent me a brochure with information about the care they provide and how they specialize in subluxation, and it made me realize exactly why I was referred to them in the first place, and that this is where I really need to go to get better. So now I have another appointment to cancel with a different regular chiropractor, and I need to make a new appointment with the doctor I had cancelled on before. Fun stuff.

So Hopefully my neck pains will be going away soon...

That's really all that's been going on lately! Eric's been busy practicing and working. I've been busy practicing and working...I'm getting really nervous about my band concert in April, where I'm playing a 10 minute solo with the band........AHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Anyhow, I guess I should go. Hopefully you're not all too bored now!
